Health and medical communication and informatics thrust focuses on assessment, implementation and evaluation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for the promotion of health and prevention of illness across the full spectrum of health and medical concerns among various groups of people. Research in this track will shed light on the role of technology in maintaining and improving health in the 21st century.

Social TV for Health
Social TV is an emerging technology that combines social media and the television. In this project, we will explore the use of Social TV for “enter-education” in the context of health. Scenarios of use include hospital lobbies, nursing homes as well as clinics. The project is interdisciplinary as it combines the field of engineering, communication, information & public health.

Virtual Exercise Therapist System (VETS) for Elderly
This Project Aims To Design, Develop And Evaluate A Virtual Exercise Therapist System (VETS) For A Wide Range Of Users. Motion-Sensing And Wearable Technologies Are Used To Movements And Provide Information On Users' Health Status And Exercise Progress. Intervention Programmes Will Be Designed, Implemented And Evaluated In VETS For The Elderly For Socialisation, Office Workers For Corporate Wellness And Patients For Rehabilitation.
